Pinch me, I'm being published!

My book, The Huntingfield Paintress, is about to be published. I've never done this before - had a novel published - and it feels exciting and unnerving; please pinch me! I feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled on to the story of Mildred Holland and her determination to pursue her dream in the face of opposition. I'm fortunate to be working with the agent Laura Morris and the publisher Matthew Smith, Urbane, who both recognised the power and passion of Mildred's tale. And I've found there's interest out there. Promotion is the name of the game and though it can be dispiriting, there are plenty of people in the media and bookshops and libraries and Huntingfield itself who love books and want to support writers to mean it's worth keeping going. The book's been featured in Suffolk Norfolk Life magazine, Faces and Places magazines, The Hare newsletter, Community News and the East Anglian Daily Times. I'm on the sofa with Lesley Dolphin, BBC Suffolk Radio on 21st April from 3 - 4.00pm. I'm signing books at the Snape book and card shop on Sunday 24th April 12 - 2.00pm. I'm looking forward to meeting readers at Southwold Library on Monday 25th April at 2.00pm and also to popping into Southwold Books, to sign some books. On social media, it's #Paintress so keep in touch!
