The joy of writing during difficult times
It was hard to start. I don't mean lockdown - although that was terribly hard - but writing, when everything around me was so different. But once I started, I realised how much writing helps me to settle. Disappearing into the early eighteenth century might be unknown, but I can control my steps around the London streets or slip into my character's head without having to remember the (changing) rules. I'm writing my third novel and despite the difficulties am grateful that I have a story that obsesses me.
