Private Eye Christmas Issue!

A mention in Private Eye's Christmas issue in 'Best New Pals' Act'. The item drew attention to AN Wilson's rave review of my book, 'the best new novel of the year' and his attendance at the book's launch in Hampstead. I don't know what was being alleged (if anything) but the author obviously assumed Mr Wilson and I know each other. Which we don't. I met Andrew Wilson in Regent's Park one summer day and asked if he'd read my book if and when it ever found a publisher. When I did, he obliged which was very nice of him. Friends have assured me that all publicity is good publicity...
